Getting ready for the grand opening!

I am busy sewing away getting ready for the opening of The Goody Shop in Westport, CT.
It is owned by television trend expert Rachel Florio, famous for reporting on ABC's Good Morning America as to what is hot on the market. I am super excited and hope to get some press out of this. She even wants my saddle pads! She is a fellow equestrian and wants all things equine.
All of this is only possible due to the undying support and wonderful friend I have in Jennifer Paganelli. She will be there too, with her smocks and frocks- needless to say, Sis Boom Rocks!

The Patchwork Pony

Just a little inspiration for my beloved on his birthday. We've got creating to do!
"Running Subway" was Tim's Urban Indian name and mine was "White Squaw" when we first met in NYC in 1979. We were desperate to connect with Mother Earth among the skyscrapers..... Now,back to basics and doing the things we love. Hail! to Tim and his amazing "Art Spirit".

All cotton hand dyed woven fabric from Japan with hand dyed wool horse. Hand stitched blanket binding.

New palate.

Perhaps it's the bleakness of winter. Leafless branches. White tail deer in the woods. White foot prints in the white snow. I am compelled to blend in with the world outside my window, a kind of camouflage or delayed hibernation. Simple projects that don't overwhelm, with simple hand done tasks. Tiny bits of embroidery, a French knot here and there. The color of fresh eggs, tea, winter skies, baling twine and hay. Nesting. Preparing for spring... whenever that may be.

New Sis Boom Gems

Here is a twin quilt incorporating almost all of Jennifer Paganelli's new line, due out "any day now". The pattern is not my own, but from Kaffe Fassett's "Quilts in the Sun" book. The pattern is called Tropical Frothy and it lends itself beautifully to her bright, larger scale prints, which are in turn accented by the softer more delicate ones.
