"Are you going to Scarborough Fair?" Like the Simon and Garfunkel song lyrics ask, but this time I ask, "are you going to Westport Farmers Market?" That's where these aprons and more will be available. All organic fabrics and inks. Just go to the PeaceTreeDessert tent and get one when you get your S'More kits and Cajeta Caramel.
Fathers Day is tomorrow. I have prepared a few gifts for him, even if he's "nauti"... tee hee. These sailors are sure to make any man cave look in ship shape. Also have some great aprons in RL boat blue print motif. They don't call me Nauti- Nancy for nothing! Check out the new booty now displayed in SPACE.
This first of a series of plant hangers was inspired by my Dad, who created eclectic assemblage masterpieces with anything and EVERYTHING within his reach. I used my incredible recall for things of little or no significance and whipped up a macrame plant hanger with a few vintage model horses and chandelier crystals. In the '70's, I was quite the macrame aficionado, putting my hand to many an owl wallhanging and pieces of odd, (and I mean ODD), pieces of jewelry. More to come... whether you like it or not. The plant hanger is mine, the rest are my father's, Captain Norman George DeWeir, amazing creations.
Sophie is one of the star models photographed for Jennifer Paganelli's craft book, Girls World, published by Chronicle. She is also Jennifer's niece! Sophie chose 3 fabrics for her custom quilt. Why so green? Maybe she likes green so much because she has the most beautiful green eyes, or because she looks so good in green, or because it picks up the green in Ollie's eyes... Either way, this quilt is a winner. Just another way to Go Green!
For my Dad. A vagabond at heart who gave up his wanderings to be home with his wife and four daughters. While he continued limited travel for business, I know there was many a trip that was not taken. He was full of grand stories and exaggerated accounts of sailing the high seas and what he would encounter in foreign ports. There is a poem that he would often quote, "Vagabond House" by Don Blandings, and a sign "Vagabond House" hung over the doorway of his workshop and refuge. There in his Vagabond House he would load up a pipe with Borkum Riff tobacco, sip a martini, and create assemblages with items he had collected on his worldly travels and in his backyard. He used what was readily at hand and allowed time and the space around him help his art to take shape This flow is what I aspire to.
