Another horse quilt...

This one is a Christmas gift for my husband who prefers earthy tones and simple patterns. Something tells me this will end up in the Tipi. The free motion quilting was fun to do on this woven fabric from Japan.

Deck the Halls!!!

Decking the halls... with a little help from some friends... Japanese (I think) dolls from the 1960's that I found at the Sis Boom sale. Don't quite know why I had to have them... my husband seems concerned....Does anyone remember ''Edith the Lonely Doll"?

My trip to London with Genevieve

I was lucky enough to visit my gorgeous 20 year old daughter in London for Thanksgiving. 4 much needed days to just hang with her in her new city. She is such a great traveller! I am so proud of her. We had a ball and especially enjoyed crashing in our uber-tiny hotel room after a day of sightseeing, eating Cadbury bars, and laughing ourselves to sleep. Oh, No!!!!! I've turned into one of those bragging bloggers!!!! Hey...this is fun...

Christmas Time has arrived in Wilton, CT

And Jennifer Paganelli set things off in style! Her sale was smashing- I went all 3 days! And she's adding another day this friday at 50% off! What a pal.
She allowed me to sell a few quilts and things at the sale and the hobby horses were the big hit. And fun to make, too!
I have been struggling to write out my pattern that I promised I would share of the Sis Boom Stripper quilt, but have enlistd my friend Roxy from Quilters Alley. So, I haven't forgotten all of you, but be patient. Then I will attempt a tutorial for the Hobby Horses.

My little "Equine Angel".

This pretty little gal and her stable mates will be available at holiday time, along with some super maple syrup. I'm teaming up with my good friend Sue Beneke of Long Shadows Farm in Woodstock, VT to make some great gifts and gift baskets in order to raise funds for E.A.R.S.- Equine Angels Rescue Sanctuary. Sue taps the trees on her own organic farm, bottles, packages and lables all at her own expense and gives 100% of the proceeds to E.A.R.S.!!! Sue surely is an angel!
Here are some pictures of Sue's farm and her horse, Trucker(Halflinger).
And here is EARS website address. Trot on over to see what wonderful work they do!

Our lady of bright thoughts and prayers...

...and light hearts and hope. Our Lady of Guadaloupe emits her rays of bright light and color and hope and love in this time when things are so difficult for some, yet the promise of hope and change has never been more present. She will be there for my niece, Jennifer, when she goes to bed at night, and when she awakes in the morning.

Green tea and nostalgia... feels good.

My new favorite blog to visit takes me back to cool nights on a summer porch in Maine, on a wicker sofa under a scratchy wool camp blanket. Fireflies fading into the orchard to make way to the apple harvest and visions of foxes boxing in the matted hay fields. I love Susan Metzger's images of her Art Farm and her paintings are portals to this world on another plane... She is as "Green" as they come and has been long before it was so chic to be so. There is a lot to learn from this gal. Keep posted to her posts.

Did I mention I stripped???

Yes, that's another Sis Boom Prelude quilt. This one is just a series of strips cut from 3/4 of a yard each from 7 fabric colors.
Want the pattern? I will be happy to share- just email me and give me a day or two to make file that is easy to understand. FYI- this one is EASY!

Prelude to a quilt...

Jennifer Paganelli's new line, Prelude, will be making it's debut in a month or two! This off shoot, Flower Power, comes in 7 brilliant colors that really say "Sock it to me!" (Remember "Laugh In"? Ooops, dating myself...)
These pillows birthed themselves right after I completed the quilt top, which I will be able to blog about this weekend. Until then, here's your "prelude"...

Tipi Time for Timmy

We spent our first night in the tipi when Tim's nephew and his family came to stay over last weekend. The weather is so gorgeous today, I thought we'd take advantage and do it again- on a week night!

Sis Boom likes me! She really likes me!

Jennifer Paganelli is so supportive! She has one of the quilts I made her on her blog, and really it's only special because of her amazing fabric collection!! Just Sis Boom Bell Bottoms squares sewn together... but it WORKS! She's the bomb. Alas, I cannot, however, take credit for the fab pillow.

The White Face Lodge in the Adirondaks in autumn.

The white face Lodge in the Adirondaks

White Face Lodge for our 24th!

Tim and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary on September 29th. He took me to White Face Lodge in Lake Placid, NY where he recently shot the last Ralph Lauren kids ad campaign. This place was amazing!!!! Such detail- everything in the Adirondak style! Birch, twigs and more birch- but so well done. This place, the Adirondaks , is so spiritual. You really feel close to Mother Earth, and are constantly reminded of how precious she is!
