J.D.'s quilt seems to be working!

Thanks to all of you who are sending their thoughts and prayers to my brother- in- law J.D.. Big kisses to you!
We are so grateful. He moved into a rehab center on Monday and seems to be doing better. He sure looks cute with Guadaloupe! Soon, he will be back home.

Back at the ranch...

Genevieve's room is getting a little face lift, too! Gotta make her miss home a little, no? The skirt on the dressing table can hide a multitude of sins... and it does! Trust me.

Home away from home....

We moved Gen into her apartment where she will live now until she graduate from York College of PA in 2010. It was a hovel when we arrived- 7 girls in a huge old prewar tenement building. I've included the before pictures. The after pictures show what a little Sis Boom can do for your room! DO NOT FEAR COLOR!!!

Happy Birthday Jennifer!

I whipped up a little bag for our favorite fabric designer/artist, Jennifer Paganelli, seeing as it was her birthday on January 16th. I took the time to do some applique and hand beading, since I am laid up with a bad foot- bunionectomy- OUCH!
The fabric is from Flower Power and Pretty Please, the trim is vintage. Kinda makes me want to go to the beach....sigh.....

Care quilt for my beloved J.D.

I love my brother in-law J.D. sooo much! When we heard he had to undergo a very difficult medical procedure way far away in California we all felt so helpless. The best I could do was try to create a care quilt for him to lift his spirits and help his healing process. I put all of the love, hope and prayers I could into each stitch and every sequin. Our Lady of Guadeloupe is here to connect with his mother Clarita's Mexican heritage and protect him in the years to come. I don't think I have ever been so mindful while quilting. This was truly made with love.
