This quilt was made for my brother in laws sister and was made with healing in mind. It also does a pretty good job of hiding my overgrown weed patch!

They are all really neat, but of course, the saddle pad is pretty classy, if I do say so myself!

Pierre Deux Challenge for a Cause

Each Pierre Duex shop across the country has nominated a designer to submit a design for "Challenge for a Cause". The money raised will go to various animal related charities, and the one our store has chosen is PEGASUS THERAPEUTIC RIDING PROGRAM, for physically and mentally challenged kids. Viewers can vote online for the winning submission. I chose to make a saddle pad-(surprise!)- and was given 3 yards of amazingly rich brocade from the store. Please vote for ME!!!!

And then I promise to focus less on my horse obsession....

Tys and I go to our first dressage show!

Well, we've done it! A 3rd place and a 5th place at our first show. It was not with out moments of daring do! I'm just very proud of us both for making it through the whole ordeal. Two weeks to work out the kinks until our next performance.... Thanks to my friend and trainer, Farah Dejohnette for walking (and trotting!) us through the process.

East Hampton here we come!

So glamourous are we! We camped in our people pod while working the Hampton Classic. However, the campground was full the first night, so we squatted- literally at times- in the 

T.J. Maxx parking lot! Then we went to Cedar Point for the rest of the week. It really was a hoot! Luckily the weather was spectacular.

Welcome to the Hampton Classic! 2008

A long week has come and gone. I attended the mother of all horse shows, the Hampton Classic! Sharing a booth with Colleen from Georgetown Stable outfitters was definitely the way to go as the booth rental fees were out of this world, but, hey- what do you expect when you are serving the rich and famous! I got good reviews on my quilts, which is really good news, as that seems to be the way my sewing machine is steering me these days. The saddle pads seemed to appeal to the dressage riders and junpers, but the hunters quicky turned their noses and snickered. A little too much style perhaps?Here's a peek at the booth and the Grand Prix Arena where the jumps averaged 6 feet tall! Those horses, (and riders) are stupendous! Congratulations to Hillary Dobbs,(daughter of news commentator Lou Dobbs) on her Grand Prix Championship! Only 20 and a junior at Harvard!!!! YIKES!

A Connecticut Tee Pee Raising!!! 

Our lovely little home lacks a guest room, and it was a perfect excuse to have what I have always wanted... my very own tee pee! Our friends Tim and Holly came out from Brooklyn to lend a hand and Tim's expertise in tee pee erections... that doesn't sound right... but he actually was raised in teepee's on an island off the coast of Seattle. The manual said it would take 45 minute's, but it was more like 4-5 hours. Still, it was a good time, and the task at hand is complete! Well done!
